What You Need To Know About Creep Feed Grinding
Creep feed grinding is completely different from the conventional grinding methods and processes. This type of grinding is best described as milling, but using a grinding wheel instead of a milling cutter. Most often the creep feed grinding uses the high porous, vitrified aluminum oxide wheel to come up with a deeper cutting effect, most often ranging from 1 mm to 25 mm. This grinding process is originally for the aerospace industry as well as related industries that use alloys which are difficult for many industrial machines.
Most of the time, one creep grinding cycle takes the majority of the stock in one or two roughing passes. It leaves a surface that is 0.025 mm in exact size and in the form of 0.005 mm and a minimum burr after a dress cycle and a finish pass.
