Miami Hostage Situation At Coral Gables Bank – Bomb Remains
There were hostages taken near Miami today. The situation was in the Coral Gables, Florida Bank of America. There’s an investigation into the kidnapping that preceded this hostage scenario. At approximately 11:42 this morning, Coral Gables police confirmed the last person was out of the bank and the Miami hostage situation was over.
The Coral Gables Bank of America hostage scenario
Thursday night, there was a kidnapping associated with the Coral Gables Bank of America heist. The kidnapper forced the individual to strap a bomb to himself and go into Coral Gables Bank of America. The response to the hostage situation started at 8 within the morning. U.S. 1 in both directions, Metrorail, the nearby University of Miami, and two elementary schools were all locked down during the response.
Robbery and home attack in Miami area linked
There was a home invasion within the Miami Nob Hill apartments Thursday. This home invasion might have been a kidnapping, and has been linked to the financial institution robbery. Police are on the lookout for two individuals driving a red Mustang. It is not yet clear if the financial institution robbers / kidnappers were with the kidnapped employee who was possibly strapped to the bomb when he or she was forced to enter the financial institution. It is also not yet clear if the Coral Gables Bank of America was being robbed for a quick no fax payday loans no credit check or if the Miami hostage scenario was intended to create a distraction for some other crime.
Explosive device diffused following the Miami hostage situation concluded
The Miami-area Coral Gables Bank of America has confirmed that several individuals were held hostage during the situation. By 11:20 a.m. local time, the last person held hostage exited the building. Though everyone was out of the building, the explosive device had not. The employee that had the explosive device strapped to their body apparently removed it. The bomb, which was initially reported as strapped to the kidnapped employee, may nevertheless be inside the Coral Gables bank. Until everything was declared safe, the highways, public transportation, and schools were all kept closed.
