Build Your Imaginary Robot With This Awesome LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0
NXT 2 Lego is a line of programmable robotics/ construction toys, manufactured by the Lego Group. Mindstorms originated from the programmable sensor blocks used in the line of educational toys. The first retail version of Lego Mindstorms was released and marketed commercially as the Robotics Invention System (RIS). The abutting adaptation accepted as Lego Mindstorms NXT. Now the newest version, is released , known as NXT 2 Lego. This lego set contains a new sensor, called the Color Sensor, that has the ability of detecting colors. NXT 2.0 designed for ages 10 and up, the 2.0 robotics tool set features everything you need to create and program your first robot in approximately one hour. After that, you can build robots that can do what you want–if you can imagine it, you can build it.
The original Mindstorms Robotics Invention System kit contained two motors, two touch sensors, and one light sensor. The NXT version has three servo motors and one sensor each for touch, light, sound, and distance. The NXT 2 Lego has 2 blow sensors, and abutment for 4 after application a sensor multiplexor. I bought this to use in a high-school classroom. My students loved programming the robot once it was put together. The setup process isn’t ideal for the classroom, as there are lots of small pieces that can be easily lost. In the future, I will assemble robots myself and then let the kids do the programming. It’s not that the kids CAN’T build the project (because clearly, the 10-year-old had no problem), but it was hard for them to do it as a group. Assembly appropriate a lot of focus and space.”
