What type & size of electric motor and ctrl can i use to build a turntable which can carry a 32″ television
stepper motor v servo motor. from—-elly
You can use a simple DC pancake gear motor. Most people have seen these things on barbeque grill rotisseries, for example.
Go to www.grainger.com or www.mcmaster.com and search on gearmotors. You are looking for 1/100th horsepower or so.
Control it with a simple on/off switch and a pole changer (a DPDT switch with the outlet poles cross-wired) to control the direction.
An AC motor would work as well – direction control is trickier.
