Rugged Optical Power Meter Ideal For On-The-Spot Measurements
Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com)has released its portable optical power meter intended for absolute optical power and relative loss measurements in fiber optic applications. The power meter is an essential test instrument for telecommunications and CATV maintenance and is also suited for use in fiber optic test labs. It features a dust-proof and water resistant design making it ideal for on-the-spot measurements.
This rugged optical power meter, model A0670005, is capable of recognizing wavelengths automatically and thus saves test time and decreases potential errors. It tests optical power within the wavelength range of 800 to 1650nm and displays optical power in mW, dB and dBm. It also offers calibrated wavelengths including 850, 980, 1310 and 1550nm. The handheld optical power meter features a low battery warning and quick response time without requiring warm-up. It automatically shuts down to save energy after ten minutes of inactivity. The light weight optical power meter has optional interchangeable connectors such as FC, SC and ST. It works continuously for twenty-eight hours when it is fully charged.
