Car Trouble 1993 Ford Ranger?
I have a 1993 ford Ranger 4 cylinder that has 8 plugs.
It has recently died and no longer starts (it died at a stop light after the volt meter dipped a couple times then wouldn’t start)
I checked the
alternator
battery
starter
Ignition control Module
and fuel pump
all checked out fine.
It didnt dawn on me until today to check for spark. I have 2 coil packs 4 plugs each. I took the wire off the plug threw a new 1 on the end put it near some metal and turned it over… nothing happend… so i tried the other 4 plugs that were easy to get to and no spark on any of them…
I have a hard time believing that both my coil packs went at the same time and i really dont wanna spend $45 ea on things that COULD fix it…
I was wondering if there was any other way to test before the packs to see if they are even getting juice?
Any other suggestions things to test before i take the plunge and buy these things?

I suggest you check the 25 amp Ignition Coil/PCM System fuse in the fuse block on the left side of instrument panel and also check the PCM Power Relay and the 20 amp PCM Power fuse in the power distribution box under the hood. And not taking for granted that the fuel pump is working, I also suggest you check the fuel pump shut-off inertia switch on the passenger side of the interior cowl just above the carpet trim. That is in a lousy location which makes it so easy for a long-legged passenger to unknowingly kick and trigger the shut-off. If all that checks out then I suggest you check the crankshaft sensor signal.
