bill h. I have tested it and give you a simple test for a sub or ship to repel a torpedo or missile. get a metal plate and create a spirol starting from the center and work your way outwards like a (wago wheel Firework does) then connect a negativ to the metal plate and the end of the wire that ends up on the out side of the spirol conect that to a positive curent. do this at set distances apart and make sure that the ones in the centre of the ship or sub are the strongest and towards the corners the weekest. this gives you your electro magnetic deflector force field that will not let a thing throug. I have tested this and not even a steel tiped bullet will hit the target it is forced off course. Get a small magnet and throw a metal object at it on its repeling field side then try making a wire coil fron the centre of the magnet and work your way out in a spiral with the wire. Then connect the end to a positive and the negative to the outer edge of the magnet throw and watch bingo.
